RE: DBUG> XP SP3 Released

Last report I saw is that Microsoft will support XP through 2014.

They are on a 3 year cycle for new OS's so 2010 is the expected date for
Windows 7 (no special name for this one). By 2014 they should have a
stable OS again.

They are stopping the *sale* of WinXP in June (direct from MS), though
you probably will still be able to buy it later than that from third
parties. I don't think they will be stopping support of WinXP any time
soon.

In fact, there are rumors that they are already working on "Windows 7"
-- which will be MUCH smaller than Vista, and indeed may be "modular".
MS is as much admitting that Vista is a real big mess up, and there is
no way to work with it to make it better. Because, it is just way too
bloated and over-wrought. It may be out in the 2010-ish time frame...

BTW, I installed WinXP SP3 on one of my machine last night, and other
than a glitch with BitDefender (which had to be turned off!) it all
seems fine.
