Re: DBUG> XP SP3 Released
Greetings Hans,
I heard somewhere that Microsoft won't be supporting XP any more after
the end of July. I find that a bit difficult to reconcile with SP3
coming out now. Did I hear wrong?
They are stopping the *sale* of WinXP in June (direct from MS), though
you probably will still be able to buy it later than that from third
parties. I don't think they will be stopping support of WinXP any time
soon.
In fact, there are rumors that they are already working on "Windows 7"
-- which will be MUCH smaller than Vista, and indeed may be "modular".
MS is as much admitting that Vista is a real big mess up, and there is
no way to work with it to make it better. Because, it is just way too
bloated and over-wrought. It may be out in the 2010-ish time frame...

BTW, I installed WinXP SP3 on one of my machine last night, and other
than a glitch with BitDefender (which had to be turned off!) it all
seems fine.
