Re: DBUG> importing ACAD files

Hello Ernie,

OK, I just don't do this enough to know how it works. I was sent a site plan from an engineer. I can open it up in DWG TrueView, but I don't know how to import it into a DCAD drawing so that I can actually use it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

In a new DataCAD file, go the the File/Import dialog, browse to the DWG file, and select it. This brings up a dialog box that lets you set the linetype and font conversion, and the scale -- remember that changing the scale of a DWG actually changes the size of things! The line is 10 units long, so if you choose inches, it will be 10 inches long, and if you choose feet it will be 10 feet long, and so on for millimeters, etc.

Are you working in v12, or an earlier version of DataCAD?
