DBUG> O/T Printers
Hi,
We bought a HP printer recently. I am not at the office, so I will just
say that it was the more expensive of the two(about $500). We went with
that(probably HP9800) over the the cheaper one (HP2800 about $300)I may have the
numbers reversed. The key was that the more expensive one has stationary ink
cartridges and the same separate printheads as our large format HP plotter. This
has allowed us to install continuous feed ink systems that reduce our print
operating costs dramatically. For about $100 you get the system and enough ink
to last a long time. The additional ink is pennies compared to that of buying
cartridges.
After having a couple of low cost printers that one paid almost the cost
of the printer everytime you replaced them, which was often, I decided I would
only buy units that you could add this CIS system. It is sold by a separate
company, I think its Macroenter.
