DBUG> Erasing

Using Dcad 11 - In the same drawing some entities will erase on command.  In
attempting to erase other items in the same drawing I get the message "point
entered too far from an entity." yet the cursor is exactly on the item to be
erased.  I have checked the non-erasible items.  They are all lines and in the
same layer.  Am I missing something simple here?
