Dcad11. I see how explode a symbol Before you place it BUT how do you
explode it After it's placed? Can't find it. Also, can you turn a placed
symbol to dashed line for a background without exploding it?
1. A macro called SYMEXP that you should find in the DCAD Toolbox menu.
2. Yes, but it's probably not worth the effort. You can make a self
xRef out of the symbols or a whole layer of symbols and then in the xRef
Manager, you can set that layer to show as any single color you want
and/or any linetype you want. So, if you had symbols containing lots of
different colors on one layer and you wanted them to show on the screen
as dark blue and in a dashed line of 5" spacing, you can do all of that
through the xRef manager. If you had multiple layers of other symbols
and you wanted them to show the same, you could make those layers also a
part of the self xRef and they too would then show up with the xRef
settings you made for the other symbols. If you then had your plot pen
settings to print out the dark blue color as a shaded line, you could
then get all of the symbols to read as a tonal background color on the
final prints and without exploding any of them.
