Of course but I was talking about a true apples-apples
comparison, i.e. the new machine has the same software as
the old one installed, and assumed Neil was too.
But as he says, it's hard to make a meaningful comparison
unless the hardware is absolutely identical. Every mobo
is different and there are scads of settings in the BIOS
(many of which it seems no one on the planet knows what
they mean or do) and the video cards may not be the same;
just no end of little things that could affect boot time.
