DBUG> Text Size in MSP
" Does anyone out there in DataCAD land know how to make the text size
match
> in Multi Plot when using several different drawings at different
scales on
> the same sheet. Mainly for appearances."
There seems to be a great deal of confusion and poor explanations as to
what Text Scale really is. Text scale is for input. Once the text is
on the drawing, it remains the size you determined it to be when you
input it.
In other words, let's set up a scenario.
1. You know you always want your text size to be 1/8" (real size)
no matter what the plot scale or drawing scale is.
2. You are creating a floor plan that you know you will be plotting
at 1/4" scale. So you set your text size at 1/8" and turn on text
scale. When you input the text on that drawing, you "page up" or "page
down" until you are at 1/4" scale. Input your text. Now your text is
in the drawing at 1/8" real size as long as you plot that drawing at
1/4" scale. However, if you plot that drawing at 1/8" scale, the text
will come out to be 1/4" high.
3. On another layer you want to create a detail that you know you
will be plotting at 1 1/2" scale. You have already set the size of text
to be 1/8", but now you are going to plot this drawing at a different
scale. So when you begin to input text for the detail, you must "page
down" to 1 1/2" scale and begin inputting your text. Now when you place
this drawing on your final sheet and you use MSP to plot it at 1 1/2"
scale, your text will come out at the predetermined 1/8" real size.
Text Scale allows you to dynamically input text. Once it is in the
drawing you can only change the text size when you use the "text change"
procedure. MSP allows you to plot drawings of different scales on the
same sheet. Once a drawing has been created, changing the scale of the
plot of that drawing will not dynamically change the text size at the
same time. To the contrary, the text size will increase or decrease
along with the drawing as you alter the plot size, up or down.
