Re: DBUG> IFP and Polylines
Bill, thanks for the thought. Attached is the file [to Bill only] as it was
in the frozen state. You'll find it has a fair amount of associated hatch,
which was being edited all morning long. Our new PIII 450, 128mg RAM with
32mg Viper 770
and Win95 OS and DCAD V8.5.02 was slowing down and "crunching" (complete
with sound effects) during these editing sessions (moving and deleting
vertices). The cursor would seem to stick on the screen even as the mouse
was moved. Finally a 2 line trim created a line that went off to infinity.
Any editing of this line (we tried to erase it) resulted in a frozen
computer (not necessarily crashing, just processing interminably). I would
suspect a corrupt layer or a fault in the way 2 line trim was used, not a
defect in DCAD. We layer utililitied the file and brought it back into a
new default drawing. It would freeze as soon as loaded in V8.5.02 and give
us the IFP Error, but when we loaded the same layer file into same default
file in V7.04 it worked fine. Since doing the layer utility, that file has
worked fine in V8.5.02. But, the problem of 2 line trim creating these
lines to infinity has begun to appear in 2 other files on different
machines, with different architects. Don't know if this is simply an
operator error, a problem with 2 line trim or with Polyline editing. Good
luck!
