Mirrored Symbols

As I insert symbols, sometimes it is necessary to mirror or rotate them;
makes sense.  If I happen to explode them they revert back to their original
orientation as they exist in the template file; doesn't make sense.  This can
be a real problem if preparing a drawing for export to .dxf.  I end up having
to systematically check each symbol to see if it has been screwed up or not.
 Is there a cheap trick, macro or other means of preventing this?  Does B26
DXF-PREP take care of this?
