re: good press
>I think it's safe to say that DataCAD6 won hands down with, "The
biggest bang for the buck"<
I tried to read this article with a detachment from my own feelings about
DataCAD and I'm not sure I would come to the same conclusion. If I were a newbie
CAD purchaser I would probably have steered toward AcadLT as a first "look-see"
based on this article. He just made it seem more "user friendly" and usable.
The author's mention of a steep learning curve was dismaying. We all know that
to be contrary on a relative basis to other REAL CAD programs, but his
comparitive competition was for the most part not in the same market as DataCAD.
It was good to see the largest block of text devoted to DataCAD, which is in
itself telling.
I, for one, intend in writing to FHB to tout DataCAD relative to this review of
it. If we all do have a vested interest in the growth of DataCAD, then the more
good press we can generate for its developers, and the more converts we can get
to the program, the better chance we stand of having our program not only
survive, but improve.
