A quick method would be with one of the woodgrain in-fill linetypes that I
beleive I received in the Madura Productivity Pack that I purchased with Dcad7.
An improvement on your above method may be to use the TANGENTS option in the
curves menu. After you input you first arc...enter TANGENTS and snap to its
endpoint. Now you can create a series of smooth alternating arcs that vary
in size by dynamically placing each point of transition.
(also works well for rounding off parallel lines by just snapping to each
endpoint)
