One of the ways I use it is on my cover sheet. My cover sheet has the General
Notes, Site Plan and Vicinity Map. My most used cover sheet is at 1/8"=1'-0"
(Yes I use to have a cover sheet for all the major scales, but if a change
was made in content I had to either layer out or enlarge everything else to
another scale) and this scale doesn't work a lot of the time. Now I use
"StickyBack" in my layout sheet and paste the drawings at the scale and
rotation that lays out the best. In addition sometimes the floor plans are
modified after site plans are done, now I select a common reference point and
bring in the revised plan into the site plan. With the way I have my detail
libraries set up I don't use the multiscale plot feature, so I can't answer
your question about "cobbling" together a detail sheet, I do not see why not
except for associative hatching and text scale which might need some
attention.
