Symbol Flips

While CADKEY is producing a new CAD package, I believe this Internet
Interest Group Forum should be utilized as a "wish list" for better
functioning CAD software. I read recently in Evan Shu's "Cheap Tricks" that
Gary Magoon, Corporate Strategist at Cadkey is talking to "key" people about
where to go. Hopefully, he's listening to this forum.

Here is one area for suggested improvement--------

Regarding Symbols - Has anyone figured out how to avoid having a Symbol
which has been mirrored, not revert back to it's original orientation. This
is a particularly annoying phenomena . For instance, when one needs to use
"Clip It". "Clip It" does not cut through or grab symbols, therefore; they
must be exploded for it to work (or even a worst route, one could do a
hidden line removal of the image, and then "Clip It").

This mirroring problem limits the effective use of symbols. Exploding may be
done for a number of reasons, possibly without the explodee realizing that
mirrored Symbols reside in the file. There's got to be better ways to handle
symbols. I know how to bring in a Symbol into a drawing in a reverse
orientation by enlarging it with negative numbers, but the symbol still
flips when exploded.

The arrangement of Symbols and their Templates has always been convoluted,
but I will defer to Phil Hart's expertise and long time suggested solutions
which DataCad 6 has not picked up on. (Phil, if you have time, maybe you
could reiterate your thoughts how T&S's could be organized)

p.s.	why did the chicken cross the Mobius strip?
