This is in response to EliotE@aol.com 's monitor question.
We have a NEC 20" monitor that has the same connections on it, it's also
from about 1988, and from what I understand, the round connections are
for the "special video card" that you don't have, or need.
I am running Diamond Stealth video cards on all of our machines, and
have noticed that the newer cards are not truely compatible with the old
monitors, (kind of). Our video cards came with a mode switching software
that can change the refresh rate of the video card to match that of your
monitor, that is if you can get a dos prompt, i'm assuming that you can,
but when you try to run DataCAD your screen gets scrambled. I assume
that because I am running a Diamond Stealh 64 DRAM card at home with an
old (1985) PS/2 monitor, and I have to run the mode switching software
every time I boot up, if I want to run DataCAD, AutoCAD, or any other
high resolution program. If not I also have something else:
Mitsubishi BBS - 213-324-3092
Mitsubishi Tech Support - 213-515-3993
Hope that helps.
