For me, I didn't and don't know enough about the situation before, during, 
or now after the Malcolm era to know if this is a good or bad thing and for 
whom.  At least that is an explanation for my 'stoney silence', as you put 
it.

I do think that a lot of people out here are in a wait and see mode that has 
more to do with product (or lack thereof) than it does with personnel 
changes.  Regardless of who is at the helm I am sure that keeping the boat 
afloat is #1 priority, and getting new product/new technology out the door 
is the #1 way to make that happen.

And speaking of 'Stoney Silences', I have noticed that this forum is not 
particularly lively these days as well.  It makes me curious because I have 
been told that it is not unusual to find a ratio of 30 or more 'read-only' 
members on Compuserve forums for every 1 active participant.  What about it 
- how many people are out there anyway?
