Davies Resignation

Hi DataCAD folks,
I am little puzzled that the press release of Malcolm Davies resignation at
Cadkey has been met with a stoney silence here on the forum. I
half-expected at least a couple of flames or two -- or have we all just
given up expecting any consistency of leadership at Cadkey or are we just
too tired to give a darn anymore?
My readers have sent me a few messages that indicate shock, disbelief, etc.
One person thought that it must be a hoax even! The scuttlebutt third
party rumor I have heard so far is that the Board of Directors was unhappy
with Malcolm Davies continued lowball pricing of DataCAD. Can anybody out
there confirm this one way or another? Does this mean that come Jan. 15
(the end of the current DataCAD 6 upgrade deadline) that DataCAD prices
will skyrocket back up?
I know Malcolm's approach was controversial to begin with, but he sure was
consistent about it and we began to know exactly what we could expect and
what we could not expect from Cadkey. And just when he got most of us to
come around to his point of view, BAM, this happens. Now, once again we
are back to square one, not knowing which way the wind is blowing with
DataCAD.
If anyone having hard info on any of the facts "behind the everybody's
happy about this -- press release" would please put them up here, I'm sure
we'd all appreciate it. Or if some of you would like to post some
reasonably calm scenarios of what you think might likely happen with the
DataCAD line over the next few years, I think it might be useful for us.
