Yep, I've got to admit I was very skeptical also. And this issue has nothing
to do with having made the decision. Looking back though, even with clean
installations of 95 and 98 I've never seen performance like this. The two
most outstanding issues are network and internet performance. My plotting
times over the network have been abysmal ever since I set it up years ago.
Since then I've done numerous computer, HD and OS upgrades. A skeptical eye
may also be needed at reported testing - are they testing similar issues or
something like Excel spreadsheets. I have noticed a slight drop in
performance in Photoshop - but I use DataCad a Whole lot more. :o)

Are there others that have loaded XP on a clean machine - or purchased a new
XP machine that didn't have a lot of other stuff on it - that may have
experiences to report. Maybe I'm just lucky?

Again, it's good that your initial experience with XP is positive.  But for
those who might be wondering if a switch to XP is the quick route to a big
performance boost ... eh, I'm afraid I'm a skeptic on that one.
