DBUG> BUG> OT, Win98SE "update" messed me over

Interesting.

I have had almost exactly the same problem with my partner's computer at our
office.  After I installed a recent "Critical Update" the computer no longer
recognized the CD ROM or Zip drive, both of which are the IDE drives on the
secondary IDE controller.  This machine is running Win98SE.  It has an Intel
SE440BX-2 motherboard & an Intel PIII 500 processor.  My attempts to force a
reload of the driver have failed.  Intel's website has no IDE drivers for
that board.

I suspect that the problem in in the update from Microsoft.
