I was having similar problems with Win 2000 and it worked ... at least it
will eliminate the software driver.

You need to manually load the Hardlock driver.

Log on as the administrator.

Please put the DataCAD 8.5 CD-ROM in your computer.
When the installation program starts, choose Cancel and then Exit
Setup.

Go to Start and choose Run.
Pick Browse.
Open your CD-ROM drive letter and double click on the Hardlock folder.
Now double click on the WinNT folder.
Open the HLDINST.EXE file.
You will now be back at the Run prompt.
Go to the end of the line and after HLDINST.EXE type in a [Space] and
then "-install".
Choose Ok and you will now install the driver.
DataCAD should now launch.
