DBUG> Hatch patterns

I have down loaded some Hatch patterns from some of the reccomended 
sites and copied them into the the appropriate database in Datacad+.  
When running the cursor over the file names, there is no image in the 
popup box along side.  How would I make this image appear. 

Also when initially selecting the factor by which to use these patterns 
they are either produced exceptionally small or large . Is there any way 
that you can scale the pattern down or up in size before placing into 
the database, so as to match more the default patterns as supplied with 
Datacad?
