DBUG> Vectorworks
So, Friday I had a demonstration of Vectorworks, formally MiniCad, from,
of all places, a client. It's somewhat humbling to have a client show
you a complete 3-D walkthru of your own project. He said he spent about
30 to 40 hours doing it, but he had never used the program before. I
was duly impressed with the output he generated, and the apparent ease
with which he navigated through the program. It seemed to me that it
was set up to do 2D/3D much more easily and seamlessly than DCAD. Has
anyone else had any experience with it? For a cost not much more than
DCAD, it seemed like an awesome program. It pointed out to me once more
that if the .dwg file transfer problem was ever solved once and for all,
without ACAD fouling up the works, then with all the great CAD programs
out there, ACAD would suffer a huge loss in market share. There'd be
absolutely no reason for an architect/building designer to use ACAD.
Too bad....
Anyway, I'd like to hear about anyone else's experience with
Vectorworks, and how you think it compares to DCAD. Thanks.
