DBUG> Exploded symbols

Hi all,
Can some one put me on the right track if I'm wrong, but can you Explode a
nested symbol more than once and still keep the second 'layer' as text and
not lines.
For example, my title block contains text which I have saved as a template,
then inserted (unexploded) and extra editable text added, e.g.. date,
client, etc.
This has been saved a template again, and when inserted (exploded) into a
drawing I then edit the text as a group to suit my needs, and the background
block still remains as an unexploded symbol, saving time in regens. etc.
However I have wanted to make changes to the base template, but when
exploded the second time, all text explodes to uneditable lines, and I have
to start from scratch each time.
Any answers?
